Lazulie + Blithe: Brand Identity

This year has been the year of Brand Identity design for me. As much as I love creating beautiful invitations and cards, Brand Identity is where I got my start as a designer and there is simply something special about it for me. As I tell all of my clients in our initial design consults, people may not be able to put their finger on exactly what they want BUT they can tell you definitely what they don’t want. I pride myself, and to be honest in a way like to brag, that I am really good about reading between the lines when clients describe to me their wants and needs for their brand. My goal in the end is that I am able to create something beautiful, something that is different and that I can be proud of and most importantly is exactly what the client had in their head and is now brought to life. When the stars align and there is a perfect meeting of the design minds between my client and I this exact moment happens!

When, Elizabeth from Lazulie + Blithe first contacted me about redesigning her brand, my brain started to swirl with ideas. Elizabeth, a very talented event designer has quite a resume behind her and I for a brief second, thought am I going to be able to give her exactly what she is looking for?! I sketched for awhile…in bed, at my parents finally came up with some designs. After struggling with the first few, I gave myself a break for a day or two and finally the perfect design came to me. It was the last logo I designed for her. I packed everything up and sent the logos over to her for review. I always bet with my husband as to which design people are going to pick and typically when submitting them my favorite is the first design I show. In this case, this is exactly what I did. Elizabeth and I are very similar creatures and after reading over her very entertaining emails and talking on the phone about the designs this was even more apparent.

In the end, she ended up picking that final design that I created and I could not be more proud of all of the work that she and I have done to pull this rebrand together. It is absolutely gorgeous! If you are in the San Diego area and looking for event design, please look her up. Her talents and stye are unmatched! Enjoy!!!
